Zojirushi Electric Water Boiler and Warmer

If you enjoy drinking tea and want to avoid the hassle of having to wait for a kettle to boil, the Zojirushi Micom Electric Water Boiler and Warmer may be the perfect solution. Zojirushi makes two different models of this water boiler/warmer, a three liter version and a four liter version. On initial start up, you will have to wait 20 to 30 minutes for the water to boil and achieve one of four different temperatures. However both models feature a timer which can be set for scheduled heating. Additionally both water boilers have an auto shut-off feature and a warning chime to let you know when the water is heated and when the level is low.

This hot water dispenser need not be limited for making hot tea as it is strictly a water boiler. If you are contemplating why you should or should not buy this product, think of the other items that can be quickly made such as hot chocolate, instant coffee and instant noodle soups, to name a few. There are no arguments, however that this product will help you properly steep a cup of tea, since the water temperatures are programmable. Although a Keurig brewer serves in similar capacity, it has limited use.

If you plan on regularly using this hot water dispenser, you will notice over time that mineral build-up may occur on the inside. Cleaning is very easy, especially since there is a non-stick coating in the water reservoir. Many choose to follow the cleaning directions provided, however the Zojirushi Inner Container Cleaner is also recommended by owners of this product. Cleaning intervals will vary depending on your water quality. Some suggestions for low maintenance include emptying the reservoir daily or using bottled water instead of tap water.

Finally, if you frequently entertain guests, the Zojirushi is nice to have as it provides on demand service for your guests. Additionally this water boiler holds a significant amount of hot water compared to the average electric tea kettle.  This product is definitely worth the investment.
